Garlic Greek Yogurt Sauce

Sometimes half of the dinner battle is making the this-and-that you've made feel like an actual meal. Here's my go-to sauce that always wins the fam over. Try this garlicky, herby sauce with grilled veggies, seared skirt steak, or mix with cream cheese for an awesome party dip. Don't let the herbs scare you off, either. If dill isn't your thing, try finely chopped tarragon. 

1 c Whole milk Greek yogurt (you can substitute all or part for sour cream)

3 T mayonnaise

1/2 cup cucumber, diced small

1 lemon, juice and zest

2 small cloves garlic

2 T chopped parsley

1 T chopped dill

1 t black or white pepper

1/2 t brown sugar


Juice and zest lemon into a medium bowl. Grate garlic (or smash into a paste) into lemon juice along with the sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix and let sit for five minutes to mellow the raw garlic. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine, seasoning with salt as necessary. Cover tightly and chill for 30 minutes before serving. If the garlic flavor is still too strong, round it out with a little more mayo or brown sugar.
